In The Philippines it is believed that cutting your nails at night brings bad luck. This is a custom that is known everywhere in Asia. Countries like China, Japan, Malaysia and even Albania also have this believe.
There are many different believes of what happens when you cut your nails at night. Some examples are:
– It is believed that you will not be with your parents at their deathbed (Japan)
– You might see a ghost or a ghost might come visit you (Malaysia, China)
– It will shorten your life and make your nails hard to grow
Cutting on Friday
Do not cut your fingernails and toenails on Fridays as this will also bring you bad luck and shorten your lifetime. Instead you could have ‘bangnails’ (fake nails).
