When entering someones house you must always take off your shoes. This manners is known in almost whole of Asia. But mostly it is practiced by Chinese. Keeping on your socks also is not a good thing to do. Just trip it all off before entering the house. In Chinese culture people will have the chance to wash their feet at the entrance of the house.
